1. Start shutting down 1 hr before bed. YES, set a time for bed and turn off devices as that hour draws closer. Your mind is activated by these screens that flash my—-er I mean those beautiful reels 😂💚

2. Set the tone and the mood. Music, candles, comfy clothing, AND lighting  can set your intention to rest. Essential oils like lavender (valerian for those overactive minds like myself) can calm the body and mind down. Ask your doctor about allergies though and use SPARINGLY. A lil goes a long way.

3. Reframe your idea about sleep! Silly little creative, sleep IS for artists! Sleep allows us to dream when we give our sleep cycle the respect it deserves. Some of your best ideas and solutions can stem from how your mind reprocesses all those reg fences of Life you’ve taken in for over 48 hrs!

4. Consistency is Key! Going to bed at the same time each night helps the body understand and familiarize itself with the time of day as well as your environmental cues.

5. Stop texting people, stop calling people, set time for a DND. Have some favorites in case you are someone’s support system, but know that many discussions can be had the next day.

6. Binaural beats, “brown noise”, rushing water, and even theta & delta waves have been known to ease an active and creative mind.
